October 2026 Vedic Horoscope for All 12 Zodiac Signs

October brings Navratri and the busiest family weeks of the year, when relatives visit and money goes out faster than usual. The planets point at the same areas this month, mainly relationships and family money.

It is also the last month of exalted Jupiter in Cancer. If Jupiter has been helping you with a course or a family decision since June, aim to finish it by October 31. Jupiter moves into Leo that day.

Venus turns retrograde in its own sign of Libra on October 3, and by the last week the Sun and Mercury join it there. An old relationship or an unsettled payment is likely to resurface. Start new work early in the month. The last week is for review.

Jupiter's last month in Cancer

Jupiter entered Cancer on June 2 and spends all of October in Ashlesha, the last nakshatra of the sign. From there it aspects Scorpio, Capricorn and Pisces. The aspect on Saturn in Pisces has helped anyone carrying slow, heavy work this year, and it holds until the end of the month.

On October 31 Jupiter crosses into Leo and lands in Magha, the nakshatra that Ketu has occupied since late March. They share the sign until December 5, when Ketu moves into Cancer. From Leo, Jupiter aspects Sagittarius, Aquarius and Aries.

Jupiter returns to Cancer in retrograde motion on January 25, 2027 and stays until June. Work started under exalted Jupiter this year gets another chance then.

Venus turns back in its own sign

The retrograde starts on October 3 and lasts 42 days. Venus slips back into Virgo on November 6, turns direct there on November 14 and reaches Libra again on November 22.

A retrograde planet gains strength of motion and returns to matters it has already handled. For Venus in Libra, those matters are relationships and money. A former partner may get in touch, or a purchase you made earlier in the year may need a second decision. This time you can usually settle it.

Big commitments in love or money are better signed after Venus turns direct on November 14. Venus is also combust from October 19 to 29, when pride and questions of status start to enter relationship matters. Keep ego out of those talks.

The full dates of this cycle are on the Venus retrograde 2026 page.

Libra gets crowded after October 17

Tula Sankranti falls on October 17. The Sun enters Libra that day, its sign of debilitation, and joins Venus and Mercury, which have been in the sign since September. Mars aspects Libra from Cancer until November 12. Whichever house Libra occupies in your chart carries the most weight this month.

Venus rules Libra and sits in its own sign next to the debilitated Sun. You will see this called Neecha Bhanga for everyone. The cancellation depends on where Libra falls from your own Moon and ascendant, so check your chart before counting on it.

Mercury turns retrograde in Libra on October 24 and goes direct on November 13 without leaving the sign. From October 30 it is also combust. Drafts written in this window need a second reading, and it helps to have someone else read the fine print of any contract.

Mars moves from Pushya to Ashlesha

Mars has been debilitated in Cancer since September 18 and stays there until November 12. Until October 17 it moves through Pushya beside exalted Jupiter, and these are the steadiest weeks of the whole Mars transit in Cancer. Physical work and family duties go well.

From October 17 Mars enters Ashlesha. Words get sharper, and anger tends to turn inward and come out at home. After Jupiter leaves on October 31, Mars is alone in Cancer, so push any confrontation you can to mid-November.

On October 13 to 15 and October 25 to 26 the Moon sits in a sign of Mars and completes an exchange with it. These days suit a task that has been stuck.

Saturn goes back into its own nakshatra

Saturn is retrograde in Pisces all month. On October 9 it moves back from Revati into Uttara Bhadrapada, its own nakshatra, where it last sat from January to May this year. Work and duties you handled in the first half of 2026 need a final correction.

Until October 17 the Sun in Virgo and Saturn in Pisces face each other, which slows approvals and official paperwork. Saturn turns direct on December 11.

The Saturn phases carry on, with Aries in the first phase of Sade Sati, Pisces in the peak and Aquarius in the last. Leo has Ashtama Shani, and Sagittarius has Dhaiya.

Rahu stays in Aquarius and Ketu in Leo. October is their last full month in these signs before they move on December 5.

When to act and when to review

Use October 1 to 16 for anything new. Mars is in Pushya beside exalted Jupiter, Venus is strong in its own sign, and Navratri begins on October 11 with Ghatasthapana.

The last week needs more care. From October 24, Mercury and Venus are both retrograde in Libra beside the debilitated Sun, and Venus stays combust until the 29th. Use this week to finish and correct work already under way, and hold new signatures where you can.

Aries (Mesha)

Relationships ask for your attention this month. Venus rules your 7th house of partners and turns retrograde there on October 3. A promise made to a partner or an old business deal is likely to be reopened. After October 17 the Sun and Mercury join Venus in that house, and those talks become more serious and more formal.

At home, things move faster. Mars, your sign lord, sits in your 4th with exalted Jupiter and brings decisions about property, vehicles and the family forward. Both planets also aspect your 10th, so a choice you make at home shows up at work soon after.

Saturn in your 12th keeps the first phase of Sade Sati running, and Jupiter's aspect keeps it gentle until October 31. That day Jupiter moves to your 5th and starts aspecting your sign, which lifts confidence and helps with children and study. Hold new contracts until mid-November if you can.

Taurus (Vrishabha)

Work piles up, and much of it is old. Venus, your sign lord, turns retrograde in your 6th house on October 3. A loan or a workplace disagreement you thought was settled reaches your desk again. The Sun joins that house on October 17, and from then on you handle rivals well and can clear old dues.

Your effort shows this month. Mars and Jupiter in your 3rd make this a good month for writing, selling, teaching and short trips, and people notice what you do. Saturn in your 11th keeps income steady and asks for patience with slow payments.

Your energy may run lower than your plans between October 19 and 29, when Venus is combust, so keep a fixed routine. Jupiter reaches your 4th on October 31 and turns your attention to home and property.

Gemini (Mithuna)

Mercury, your sign lord, sits in your 5th house all month and turns retrograde there on October 24. Venus has been retrograde in the same house since October 3, so study and love both get a second round. An exam result or an old romance may return before the month ends. Creative work returns too.

Jupiter and Mars in your 2nd put more cash through your hands and more force behind your words, so speak carefully at home. Saturn in your 10th slows approvals at work, and Jupiter's aspect on it helps until October 31.

Recheck forms and admission results in the last week of October. From October 31, Jupiter in your 3rd aspects your 7th and 11th houses, which supports partners and gains through November.

Cancer (Karka)

Exalted Jupiter spends its last month in your sign. It shares your 1st house with Mars until October 31, so you come across with more authority and a shorter temper than usual. If Jupiter opened a new role or a course of study for you in June, give it the push it needs now.

Home takes over from October 17, when the Sun joins Venus and Mercury in your 4th house under the aspect of Mars. Your mother needs more of your time. Venus has directional strength in the 4th, so repairs to the house or the car turn out well.

Saturn in your 9th asks you to pick up an older plan again. On October 31 Jupiter moves to your 2nd house, which supports savings and family income through the winter.

Leo (Simha)

Most of October happens away from public view. Mars and Jupiter sit in your 12th house, so foreign work and research carry the month, and spending rises with them. Ketu in your sign and Saturn in your 8th make rest and sleep more important than usual.

Things open up after October 17, when the Sun, your sign lord, joins Venus and Mercury in your 3rd house. Classical texts count the Sun as favourable in the 3rd from the Moon, and media work, short travel and dealings with siblings all benefit. Speak up for your own work.

October 31 is the big day for you. Jupiter enters your sign and joins Ketu in Magha. From your 1st house it aspects your 5th, 7th and 9th, which helps with study, partnerships and advice from elders in November.

Virgo (Kanya)

Money comes in well this month, better for you than for any other sign. Mars and Jupiter sit in your 11th house until October 31, so income grows and long-held wishes come within reach. Collect what is owed to you and close pending deals before that date. If a raise is due, ask now.

At home, the same money needs careful handling. Libra is your 2nd house, and Venus turns retrograde there on October 3. The Sun follows on October 17, and Mercury, your sign lord, turns retrograde in the same house on October 24. Check family accounts line by line, and speak with relatives more gently than usual.

Saturn aspects your sign from the 7th, so a partner may hold you to an old promise. From October 31, Jupiter moves to your 12th, and travel and expenses take more of your attention.

Libra (Tula)

Everything this month happens in your own sign. Venus, your sign lord, turns retrograde there on October 3, and the Sun arrives in debilitation on October 17. Mercury turns retrograde in your sign on October 24, and Mars aspects it from your 10th house for the whole month.

People notice you, and some of them test you. Questions about your appearance and your past decisions come up again, and your patience with other people runs thinner than usual. A steady routine for sleep and meals will help you more this month than any big personal decision.

Work is where October helps you. Mars has directional strength in your 10th house, and exalted Jupiter sits beside it until October 31. Ask for the promotion or sign the work contract in the first half of the month, before Mercury turns retrograde.

Saturn in your 6th keeps rivals slow. From October 31, Jupiter moves to your 11th, and income and friendships improve through November.

Scorpio (Vrishchika)

Exalted Jupiter aspects your sign from your 9th house until October 31, and your sign lord Mars sits there with it. Teachers, study and long journeys work in your favour. The Sun in your 11th brings recognition and some extra income until October 17.

The second half costs more. After October 17 the Sun, Venus and Mercury fill your 12th house, which raises spending and brings foreign matters forward. Protect your sleep, and check travel bookings twice after October 24.

On October 31 Jupiter moves to your 10th house, and career questions take the lead from November onward. Saturn in your 5th keeps creative work and studies slow, so give them more time.

Sagittarius (Dhanu)

Income and friendships do well this month. Libra is your 11th house, and the Sun, Venus and Mercury all work in your favour from there. After October 24, when Mercury turns retrograde, an old contact may get in touch or a delayed payment may finally arrive.

Your sign lord Jupiter spends October exalted in your 8th house with Mars, so insurance, tax and shared money move and research goes well. Saturn in your 4th is the Dhaiya phase. It keeps home and property matters slow and may ask for repairs.

On October 31 Jupiter moves into your 9th house and aspects your sign for the first time since June 2. Luck and good teachers return from that day.

Capricorn (Makara)

Career takes centre stage. Venus, your yogakaraka, turns retrograde in your 10th house on October 3, and an earlier job offer or client may return. The Sun joins it on October 17 with directional strength, which helps with seniors.

Mars and Jupiter sit in your 7th and aspect your sign, so your spouse and your clients stand behind you until October 31. Mars also aspects your 10th, which adds pressure at work in the second half. Saturn, your sign lord, rewards steady effort.

Read every agreement twice after October 24 and keep notes of what was said in meetings. From October 31, Jupiter moves to your 8th, and shared money and tax matters need more of your time.

Aquarius (Kumbha)

Libra is your 9th house, and from October 3 Venus is retrograde there, which reopens plans for long travel or higher study. The Sun joins on October 17 and Mercury turns retrograde there on October 24. An elder may raise an old matter.

At work, you have the edge. Mars and Jupiter in your 6th help you beat competitors and settle pending cases, including old debts. Rahu sits in your sign and Mars aspects it, so keep your words plain and stay out of arguments on the road.

Saturn, your sign lord, sits in your 2nd in the last phase of Sade Sati, and Jupiter's aspect softens it until October 31. The Sade Sati calculator shows where you stand. From October 31, Jupiter enters your 7th and aspects your sign and Rahu, which steadies your partnerships and your own judgment.

Pisces (Meena)

Saturn sits in your sign in the peak phase of Sade Sati and stays retrograde all month. Your sign lord Jupiter helps. It is exalted in your 5th house and aspects both your sign and Saturn until October 31, so work that needs patience goes better.

Until October 17 the Sun faces Saturn from your 7th house, and partners or government officials may try your patience. After that the Sun joins Venus and Mercury in your 8th house. Joint money, taxes and insurance need a careful review, and matters with in-laws may need attention too. Read loan papers slowly.

From October 31 Jupiter moves to your 6th house, and its aspect on your sign and on Saturn ends. A fixed daily routine will carry you through November.

Remedies and sacred dates

Remedies work on the mind first, and a steadier mind handles a busy month better. 5 practices are worth keeping this October:

  • Begin new work before October 17. Mars in Pushya beside exalted Jupiter makes the first half the stronger time, and Navratri opens in the same stretch.

  • Slow down before signing anything after October 24. Venus and Mercury are both retrograde. Keep written records, and wait for mid-November if you can.

  • Watch your temper at home. Mars in Cancer turns anger toward family. Exercise and a pause before you reply both help, and the Hanuman Chalisa on Tuesdays steadies the mind.

  • Offer water to the Sun at sunrise from October 17. The Sun stays debilitated in Libra for a month, and this simple daily practice supports confidence.

  • Serve a teacher or an elder before October 31. It is the natural way to honour Jupiter in its last days of exaltation.

For a reading against your own chart and running dasha, book a consultation.

The month also carries strong days for practice. Where India and Nepal differ, both dates are given.

  • October 10: Sarva Pitru Amavasya, the last day of Pitru Paksha

  • October 11: Ghatasthapana, the start of Navratri, and of Dashain in Nepal

  • October 17: Tula Sankranti, and Fulpati in Nepal

  • October 18: Maha Ashtami in Nepal

  • October 19: Durga Ashtami and Maha Navami in India

  • October 20: Vijayadashami in India, and Maha Navami in Nepal

  • October 21: Vijaya Dashami and Dashain Tika in Nepal

  • October 25: Sharad Purnima in India, and Kojagrat Purnima in Nepal

  • October 29: Karwa Chauth

Navratri this year falls in the last weeks of exalted Jupiter, with Mars in Pushya for most of it. Recite the Durga Saptashati, or a portion of it, through the 9 nights.

Summary

October starts well, with Mars in Pushya beside exalted Jupiter and Navratri beginning on October 11. After October 17, the debilitated Sun and retrograde Venus share Libra, and Mercury turns retrograde in the same sign on October 24. Review the house Libra occupies in your chart.

On October 31 Jupiter leaves Cancer for Leo and joins Ketu, which changes the reading for every sign. It returns to Cancer in January 2027. Start new work before October 17, and use the last week to finish and correct what is already under way.
