What Rahu in Chitra nakshatra means
Chitra is the bright jewel, ruled by Mars, with Tvashtar, or Vishvakarma, as its deity. Its first two padas lie in Virgo and its last two in Libra. Mars is Rahu's enemy in the usual lists, and Rahu in the star of the divine architect builds fast and too large.
The stay is around seven months. Rahu enters at the fourth pada in Libra, moving backward, and leaves from the first pada in Virgo. A direct spell of the true node can split the stay into two visits. Chitra's themes are design, architecture, jewellery, beauty, illusion and the making of striking things.
Rahu here loves the surface. Buildings, brands, images and reputations are made larger than life, and some of them are hollow. Ketu stands in Ashwini during the Libra padas and in Revati during the Virgo padas. The axis pairs a Rahu that wants to be admired with a Ketu that has lost interest in beginning again.
From the Moon, the Libra padas favour Leo, Taurus and Sagittarius, who hold Rahu in the third, sixth and eleventh named by Phaladeepika. For the Virgo padas the favoured signs are Cancer, Aries and Scorpio. Libra and Virgo Moons carry Rahu in the first. Aries and Pisces Moons meet Ketu in the first and Rahu in the seventh, and lagnas take the same count.
