Rahu Transit in Purva Phalguni

Purva Phalguni belongs to Venus, and Bhaga, the giver of enjoyment, is its deity. Its symbol is the front legs of a cot, and it lies in Leo, so the Sun owns the sign. In the usual lists Venus is Rahu's friend and the Sun its enemy, which makes the stay pleasant on the surface with an unease underneath.

Around seven months pass in the stay, backward from the fourth pada to the first, and it splits into two visits when the true node runs direct for some weeks. Pleasure, romance, creativity, generosity, performance and the ease that follows achievement are the themes.

Rahu makes pleasure a preoccupation. Spending on entertainment rises, romances begin quickly and burn out, and creative work attracts attention beyond its merit. Ketu stands in Purva Bhadrapada at the same time and moves back into Shatabhisha for the second half, withdrawing from austerity and from healing.

From the Moon, Gemini, Pisces and Libra hold Rahu in the third, sixth and eleventh, the houses Phaladeepika favours. Leo Moons carry Rahu in the first and should watch the heart, their spending and their vanity. Aquarius Moons have Ketu in the first and Rahu in the seventh. Virgo and Capricorn Moons take the twelfth and the eighth, with the lagna taking the same count.

The transit shows what a person does with ease. Bhaga gives, and Rahu wants more of the gift than was given. Enjoyment without grasping carries a person through this stay well.

Worship Durga, and thank Bhaga by giving pleasure to someone who has little of it. Recite Om Ram Rahave Namah. Parashara's graha shanti asks for mantra and dana, and the traditional gifts for Rahu are dark cloth, sesame and oil on Saturday. Avoid intoxicants, which are Rahu's easiest door in a Venus star.
