What Rahu in Swati nakshatra means
Swati is Rahu's own nakshatra, in Libra, with Vayu as its deity and a young shoot bending in the wind as its symbol. Venus owns the sign and is Rahu's friend in the usual lists. Rahu here is at home twice over, and what it does, it does without resistance.
Around seven months pass in the stay, backward from the fourth pada to the first. When the true node runs direct for some weeks, the stay splits into two visits. Swati's themes are independence, trade, movement, diplomacy, the wind and everything that scatters and carries.
Rahu in its own star amplifies freely. Trade with foreign places grows, travel increases, and a person may leave a fixed position for something looser and larger. The wind also scatters plans and promises, and the mind goes restless without knowing why. Ketu stands in Bharani at the same time and moves back into Ashwini for the second half of the stay.
Leo, Taurus and Sagittarius Moons receive Rahu in the third, sixth and eleventh, the houses Phaladeepika allows to Saturn and to Rahu.
