What Rahu in Revati nakshatra means
Revati closes the zodiac at the end of Pisces. Pushan is its deity, Mercury its lord, and a fish or a drum its symbol. Mercury is Rahu's friend in the usual lists, and Jupiter, who owns the sign, is neutral. Pushan guards travellers and herds, and Rahu in his star travels far.
Around seven months pass in the stay, taken backward from the fourth pada, the last degrees of the zodiac, to the first. The true node turns direct now and then, and such a spell sometimes splits the stay into two visits. Revati's themes are travel, safe passage, wealth in cattle and goods, nourishment, endings and the road home.
Rahu enlarges the road. Foreign travel, migration, shipping and trade across water expand, and a person may leave for a distant place with little warning. Endings arrive that were long delayed. Ketu stands opposite in Chitra and moves back into Hasta for the second half, withdrawing from show and then from craft.
- Capricorn, Libra and Taurus Moons and lagnas hold Rahu in the third, sixth and eleventh, the houses Phaladeepika favours.
- Pisces Moons carry Rahu in the first and should watch the feet, the sleep and the urge to leave.
- Virgo Moons have Ketu in the first and Rahu in the seventh.
- Aries and Leo Moons take the twelfth and the eighth.
What is shown is how one ends things. Revati is the last star, and Rahu here shows whether a person can end a thing by choice or only when it ends itself.
The remedy is Durga and Om Ram Rahave Namah, with food given to travellers or to cattle for Pushan. No intoxicants, and no departure without settling accounts. Parashara's dana for Rahu is dark cloth, sesame and oil, given on the Saturday before a long road is taken.
