What Mars in Magha nakshatra means
The Pitris, the ancestors, preside over Magha, whose lord is Ketu and whose symbol is a throne. It lies in Leo, the Sun's sign, and the Sun is a friend of Mars. Ketu acts as Mars does, so the graha finds a kindred lord and a friendly sign. It is one of the stronger nakshatra positions for Mars.
The stay is about a month, longer than in most nakshatras. Authority, lineage, inheritance and the duties owed to the family line are the themes. Mars gives the courage to claim a position and the temper to lose it. Promotions, property from the father's side, and ceremonies for the ancestors all come forward.
The heart, spine and eyes are Leo's body areas. Pride is the moral hazard. Ketu in Magha gives sudden reversals, and Mars makes them dramatic.
