Saturn Transit in Hasta

Savitr, the Sun as the one who sets things in motion, presides over Hasta, and its symbol is a hand. It lies in Virgo, Mercury's sign, where Saturn works well. The lord is the Moon, whom Saturn counts an enemy, so Saturn is at ease in the sign and reserved with the nakshatra lord. Hasta is a light nakshatra, given in Muhurta Chintamani to craft, trade and travel.

The hand makes, heals, trades and steals. Saturn in Hasta gives skill through repetition, so craftwork, accounts, handwriting, medicine and every trade of the fingers are slowed and then perfected. The hands, the nerves and the bowels need attention, and a small dishonesty in trade is found out. Nothing stays hidden.

Saturn takes about a year over a nakshatra, and the retrograde usually returns it for a second or third visit. Each return asks for the same work to be done again with more care.

Libra, Virgo and Leo Moons are in Sade Sati, with Virgo in the middle phase. Gemini Moons have Saturn in the fourth, the Kantaka position, and Aquarius Moons in the eighth. For Cancer, Aries and Scorpio Moons and lagnas the graha sits in the third, sixth or eleventh, and Phaladeepika counts those as favourable.

The matter here is what a person does with their hands when no one asks. Skill is tested during the stay, and practised skill is given work that lasts.

Work done by hand for someone who cannot pay is the remedy. Repair, cook, write letters for the old, and give sesame or oil on Saturday with Om Sham Shanaishcharaya Namah. Offer water to the rising Sun in Savitr's name, and give milk on Monday for the Moon, the nakshatra lord.
