Venus Transit in Hasta

A hand is the symbol of Hasta, the Moon's nakshatra in the middle of Virgo, and its deity is Savitr, the Sun as the one who impels. The Moon is an enemy of Venus. Virgo is Venus's sign of debility, and Mercury, who owns the sign, is a friend, and that friendship keeps the transit workable.

Venus in Hasta makes with the hands. For eleven days or so, craft, embroidery, cooking, massage, writing by hand and the healing arts that use touch all gain, and money comes from skill and small trade. Love is practical here. It shows in a meal cooked or a garment mended.

Hasta is laghu in muhurta, light and quick, and Muhurta Chintamani lists it among the nakshatras fit for a wedding. It suits learning a skill, opening a shop and making jewellery or clothes. Debilitated Venus asks for modesty, and a purchase made to impress does not satisfy in this window.

From the Moon and the lagna, Virgo, Leo, Cancer, Gemini, Taurus, Aquarius, Capricorn, Scorpio and Libra Moons hold Venus in Phaladeepika's favourable houses. They earn by their hands. Aries, Pisces and Sagittarius Moons have it in the sixth, seventh and tenth, and should not sign for a partner or spend freely.

The question here is whether a person can love without grandeur. The hand does small things well, and Venus asks for pleasure found in service.

Seva done with the hands is the remedy, with Om Shukraya Namah on Friday and rice or curd given to a worker. Savitr is honoured with the Gayatri at dawn.
