Saturn Transit in Krittika

Krittika belongs to the Sun, Saturn's enemy, and its deity is Agni. Its symbol is a razor or a flame. The first pada lies in Aries, where Saturn is debilitated, and the other three in Taurus, the sign of Venus and a friend's house.

Agni burns and purifies, and the razor cuts away. Saturn cuts slowly here, removing an old attachment, a habit or a position held too long, and conflict with authority, with the father or with a superior at work is the usual outer form. The stomach and the digestive fire suffer when meals are irregular. The eyes need rest.

In the Aries pada the cutting feels like loss. Once Saturn crosses into Taurus the same work turns to building, and property, savings and family income come back into order. A visit lasts about four months, and the retrograde usually brings two or three of them across about a year.

Who feels it most depends on which sign Saturn occupies. In the Aries pada, Taurus, Aries and Pisces Moons are in Sade Sati, Capricorn Moons in Kantaka and Virgo Moons in Ashtama. In the Taurus padas, Sade Sati moves to Gemini, Taurus and Aries Moons, with Aquarius in the fourth and Libra in the eighth. Phaladeepika's favourable houses fall to Aquarius, Scorpio and Gemini Moons and lagnas first, then to Pisces, Sagittarius and Cancer.

The transit shows what a person is willing to burn. Saturn in Krittika shows whether one's sharpness is discipline or anger, and that decides how the stay is received.

Keep fire in order. Light a sesame oil lamp each Saturday, honour Agni with a small daily offering, and share cooked food with labourers. Recite Om Sham Shanaishcharaya Namah, give iron or oil, and keep meals at fixed hours, as Saturn in an Agni nakshatra asks.
