Krittika begins in the last pada of Aries and runs through the first three padas of Taurus. The Sun is its lord, Agni its deity, and a razor or a flame its symbol. The Sun is the Moon's friend. Its Taurus padas hold the Moon's exaltation degree, so the Moon is well placed for most of its stay of about a day.

Muhurta Chintamani calls Krittika mishra, mixed. Fire rites, agnihotra and daily work that carries some heat go well, and so does any task with a cutting edge, whether pruning, editing or ending a contract.
