Mercury Transit in Scorpio

Scorpio belongs to Mars, whom Mercury counts neutral, and Budha passes through in about twenty-one days. The fixed, watery sign drives thought below the surface, and little is said plainly during the stay.

Scorpio governs the excretory organs, secrets, research and sudden change. Mercury here suits investigation, mantra study and any work that needs digging. Speech turns guarded and can carry a sting, and suspicion of other people's motives rises.

The nakshatras are Vishakha, Anuradha and Jyeshtha. Vishakha, under Jupiter, opens with fixed purpose, and Anuradha, under Saturn, is the steadiest stretch and suits devotion and long study. Jyeshtha is Mercury's own nakshatra, and the closing days bring rivalry and questions of rank.

Classical gochara counts Mercury well in the second, fourth, sixth, eighth, tenth and eleventh from the natal Moon: Libra, Leo, Gemini, Aries, Aquarius and Capricorn Moons. Scorpio Moons hold it in the first, and Sagittarius Moons carry it in the twelfth, where secrets weigh heavily.

A thought held back for weeks shapes everything said around it. Say one withheld thing plainly. Research goes deep during these days.

• Recite Om Bram Breem Braum Sah Budhaya Namah on Wednesday.
• Take up research or mantra study during Anuradha.
• Say plainly the one thing that has gone unsaid too long.

Mercury in Scorpio for each Moon sign

Counted from the natal Moon, following Phaladeepika. Read the ascendant the same way. Vedha and the birth chart can change the result.
