Rahu Transit in Scorpio

Scorpio is the sign most texts give as Rahu's fall, and its lord Mars is Rahu's enemy in the usual lists. Rahu's weakness here shows as fear. For about a year and a half it amplifies the sign's hidden themes: secrets, obsession, the occult, addiction, joint money, inheritance and the dread of loss.

Ketu stands in Taurus, the sign of its own fall, so both nodes are debilitated at once. Rahu digs into what is buried, and Ketu loses interest in comfort, food and possessions. The person may feel that nothing is solid, and that feeling passes.

The nakshatras are Vishakha, Anuradha and Jyeshtha. Rahu moves backward, so Jyeshtha, ruled by Mercury, opens the stay with power struggles and the temptation to control. Anuradha, ruled by Saturn, is the steadiest third and lends Rahu discipline. Vishakha's fourth pada closes the stay with ambition turned to a purpose.

Rahu's favourable transit houses, the third, sixth and eleventh from the Moon, fall to Virgo, Gemini and Capricorn Moon signs. Scorpio Moons carry a debilitated Rahu in the first house, with fear, secrecy and sudden changes of identity. Taurus Moons have Ketu in the first and Rahu in the seventh, where partnership carries hidden strain. Aries Moons meet Rahu in the eighth and Sagittarius Moons in the twelfth, and the lagna is counted the same way.

The transit brings up what a person fears most so that it can be seen, and a fear seen clearly loses much of its hold. Intoxicants, secret dealings and money shared without a contract are the outer risks.

The remedy is fearlessness through devotion. Worship Durga, the deity for Rahu, and recite Om Ram Rahave Namah. Parashara's remedy chapter gives Rahu dana, and dark cloth, sesame and oil on Saturday are the traditional form. Meditation, a plain diet and complete honesty about money carry a person through this stay.
