Jupiter Transit in Scorpio

Scorpio belongs to Mars, and Mars is Jupiter's friend, so Jupiter is welcome in this deep and secret sign. Scorpio rules hidden matters, inheritance, joint money, research, the occult, chronic illness and inner change, and Jupiter brings wisdom and protection to each of them for about a year.

Crises turn into understanding under this transit. Inheritances are settled, insurance and loans work out, and an illness that was feared is understood and treated. Research, psychology and any study of what lies beneath the surface prosper. Fear loosens.

Vishakha, Jupiter's own nakshatra, opens the stay with purpose and drive. Anuradha, ruled by Saturn, is the devotional centre of the transit and favours friendship, discipline and sadhana, and Jyeshtha, ruled by Mercury, ends it with responsibility and seniority.

Phaladeepika's favourable houses for Jupiter, the second, fifth, seventh, ninth and eleventh, fall to Libra, Cancer, Taurus, Pisces and Capricorn Moon signs. Aries Moons have Jupiter in the eighth and Sagittarius Moons in the twelfth, where gains are private and expenses are for others. Scorpio Moons carry Jupiter in the first house and gain confidence, protection and a wider view. The lagna is counted the same way.

Jupiter in Scorpio brings light into the hidden part of the mind, and what is found there usually turns out easier to bear than feared. Looking inward is how a person gains most from the year.

• Guard the reproductive and excretory systems, which Scorpio rules, and settle joint finances in writing.
