What Ketu in Scorpio means

Scorpio is the sign most texts give as Ketu's exaltation, and its lord Mars is Ketu's model, since Ketu behaves like Mars. Ketu is at its strongest here.

For about a year and a half it works on secrets, fear, the occult, joint money, inheritance and inner change. It works by cutting. What was hidden from oneself is cut open and released.

Rahu stands in Taurus, its own exaltation, so the whole axis is strong. Rahu pulls toward wealth and the senses, and Ketu pulls into the depths toward research, tantra and renunciation. A person who earns well and goes inward gets the best of this transit.

The nakshatras are Vishakha, Anuradha and Jyeshtha. Ketu moves backward, so Jyeshtha, ruled by Mercury, opens the stay with the shedding of a role of seniority or control. Anuradha, ruled by Saturn, is the middle third and the most devotional, where Ketu's insight joins Saturn's discipline in sadhana. Vishakha's fourth pada closes the transit with ambition turned to purpose.

Ketu's favourable transit houses, the third, sixth and eleventh from the Moon, fall to Virgo, Gemini and Capricorn Moon signs. Scorpio Moons carry an exalted Ketu in the first house and feel intense, withdrawn and drawn to the spiritual. Taurus Moons have Rahu in the first and Ketu in the seventh, where partnership carries appetite and detachment. Aries Moons meet Ketu in the eighth and Sagittarius Moons in the twelfth, with the lagna read by the same count.

Ketu exalted in Scorpio shows what one holds in the dark. It brings intuition sharp enough to see it and the detachment to let it go. Sudden losses of money held with others, and surgery, are the outer risks.

  • Worship Ganesha and recite Om Kem Ketave Namah, the direct remedies for Ketu.
  • Give a blanket or sesame on Tuesday, as Parashara's remedy chapter allows.
  • Take up one deep practice and keep it.
