Mercury Transit in Sagittarius

Sagittarius belongs to Jupiter, whom Mercury counts neutral, and Budha passes through in about twenty days. Detail and principle argue here, and thought reaches wide and skips the fine print.

Sagittarius governs the thighs, dharma, teaching and long travel. Mercury here turns talk toward belief, law and teaching, and publishing, lecturing and legal matters all move well. Small facts get lost inside the large argument.

The nakshatras are Mula, Purva Ashadha and Uttara Ashadha. Mula, under Ketu, opens by questioning the root of a subject. Purva Ashadha, under Venus, brings persuasion and the wish to convince. Uttara Ashadha, under the Sun, closes with conclusions that hold.

Classical gochara counts Mercury well in the second, fourth, sixth, eighth, tenth and eleventh from the natal Moon, which here means Scorpio, Virgo, Cancer, Taurus, Pisces and Aquarius Moons. Sagittarius Moons hold it in the first, and Capricorn Moons carry it in the twelfth, where detail slips away.

Arguments for a belief run broad during this stay. Check one detail of the argument before repeating it.

Read the fine print before signing.

• Recite Om Bram Breem Braum Sah Budhaya Namah on Wednesday.
• Check the detail of any agreement before it is signed.
• Teach or publish during Uttara Ashadha.

Mercury in Sagittarius for each Moon sign

Counted from the natal Moon, following Phaladeepika. Read the ascendant the same way. Vedha and the birth chart can change the result.
