Venus Transit in Purva Phalguni

Purva Phalguni is Venus's own nakshatra in the middle third of Leo. Its deity is Bhaga, the Aditya who grants enjoyment and one's share of fortune, and its symbol is the front legs of a cot. Venus is in its own nakshatra and in the sign of the Sun, its enemy. The graha is at home in the house of a rival.

Pleasure is the main theme. Rest, love-making, music, festivals, theatre and the enjoyment of wealth already earned come forward for the eleven days or so of the stay, and creative work made for delight does well. The cot is for lying down. Hard beginnings belong elsewhere.

Purva Phalguni is ugra, and Muhurta Chintamani does not list it for a wedding. The days suit celebrating a marriage already made, a gift to a lover, and buying things that give comfort. Excess is the plain risk. In the Sun's sign Venus spends for show, and a bill arrives after Bhaga's feast.

Leo, Cancer, Gemini, Taurus, Aries, Capricorn, Sagittarius, Libra and Virgo Moons have Venus in the houses Phaladeepika calls favourable and enjoy the days freely. Pisces, Aquarius and Scorpio Moons receive it in the sixth, seventh and tenth. For them the enjoyment costs something in health, in a partner's patience or at work. Lagnas are read alike.

A person's relationship to enjoyment is on view, whether it carries guilt or has no stop, and Venus in its own nakshatra makes the pattern visible without effort.
