Mercury Transit in Purva Phalguni

Bhaga, the Aditya who gives enjoyment and a fair share, is the deity of Purva Phalguni, and Venus is its lord. Its symbol is the front legs of a cot. It lies in Leo, and both the sign lord, the Sun, and the nakshatra lord are friends of Mercury, so this is one of the easier stretches of the zodiac for the graha.

Mercury stays about eight days. Speech turns pleasant, and it becomes easy to ask for what one wants and to be given it. Contracts of pleasure, marriage papers, art, music, performance and anything sold on charm do well. Bhaga also gives a fair share, so accounts settle to everyone's satisfaction.

Muhurta Chintamani counts the nakshatra ugra, fierce, since pleasure pursued is a strong act. Bold proposals and the ending of a contract that no longer pleases suit these days. A study begun here, or a quiet retreat, goes less well.

Cancer, Taurus, Pisces, Capricorn, Scorpio and Libra Moons and lagnas gain, holding Mercury in the houses Phaladeepika favours from Leo. Leo, Gemini, Aries, Aquarius, Sagittarius and Virgo Moons have the other houses, and for them charm can spend what it should not.

This transit shows how a person handles ease. Money, words and promises are all being counted this week.

Generosity in measure is the remedy. Give green cloth or moong on Wednesday, recite Om Budhaya Namah, and worship Vishnu. A Friday offering to Lakshmi, and honest words to a partner, keep Venus content as nakshatra lord.
