Ketu Transit in Aquarius

Aquarius belongs to Saturn, and Ketu shares Saturn's detachment. For about a year and a half it works on friends, networks, society, elder siblings and causes by taking things away. Attachment to the group loosens, and the person learns to serve without needing to belong.

Rahu stands in Leo, hungry for recognition, authority and a stage. Ketu in Aquarius withdraws from crowds, committees and shared enthusiasms. The person may leave a movement, lose a circle of friends, or gain from unexpected quarters.

The nakshatras are Dhanishta, Shatabhisha and Purva Bhadrapada, crossed backward. Purva Bhadrapada, ruled by Jupiter, opens the stay with austerity and a turn toward the formless. Shatabhisha, ruled by Rahu, is the middle third and the most unusual, with research and secrecy heightened by Ketu's intuition, and Dhanishta, ruled by Mars, closes the transit with gains that were not chased.

Ketu's favourable transit houses, the third, sixth and eleventh from the Moon, fall to Sagittarius, Virgo and Aries Moon signs. Aquarius Moons carry Ketu in the first house and feel detached from friends and causes and drawn to a private practice. Leo Moons have Rahu in the first and Ketu in the seventh, where partners withdraw as the self demands attention. Cancer Moons meet Ketu in the eighth and Pisces Moons in the twelfth, and the lagna is read the same way.

Ketu in Aquarius shows how much of a person's identity was borrowed from a group. Gains fall for a time and return in a new form.

• Worship Ganesha and recite Om Kem Ketave Namah, the direct remedies for Ketu.
• Give a blanket or food to the needy on Tuesday, as Parashara's remedy chapter allows.
• Serve one cause quietly and keep a daily hour of silence.
