What Ketu in Sagittarius means
Sagittarius belongs to Jupiter, and some texts give this sign as Ketu's exaltation. Ketu is comfortable in the sign of dharma and moksha. For about a year and a half it works on faith, teachers, law, philosophy and long travel, and it works by subtraction. Beliefs held from habit are loosened.
Rahu stands in Gemini, hungry for information, conversation and cleverness. Ketu in Sagittarius withdraws from doctrine and from the need to be right. The person may leave a tradition or find it has become quiet and inward. Teachers step back so the student can stand.
The nakshatras are Mula, Purva Ashadha and Uttara Ashadha. Ketu moves backward, so Uttara Ashadha, the Sun's nakshatra, opens the transit with a quiet test of what one has practised. Purva Ashadha, ruled by Venus, is the middle third, where conviction is loosened. Mula is Ketu's own nakshatra, and its third closes the stay at full strength, with the roots of belief dug up and examined.
