Mars Transit in Capricorn

Capricorn belongs to Saturn, whom Mars counts neutral, and Mangala is exalted here, most deeply at twenty-eight degrees. The stay runs about thirty-eight days, and Parashara gives Mars no stronger seat for sustained work.

Capricorn governs the knees, career, duty and structure. An exalted Mars turns force into discipline, and work that needs both strength and patience moves best during this stay. Ambition rises and stays practical.

The nakshatras are Uttara Ashadha, Shravana and Dhanishta. Uttara Ashadha, under the Sun, opens with results that last. Shravana, under the Moon, cools the drive and turns it toward learning. Dhanishta belongs to Mars, and the closing days carry the strongest public push.

Classical gochara counts Mars well in the third, sixth and eleventh from the natal Moon: Scorpio, Leo and Pisces Moons. Capricorn Moons hold it in the first, where the knees take the strain, and Aries Moons carry it in the tenth and Cancer Moons in the seventh.

An exalted Mars shows a person what their will can build. Energy given to structure now keeps paying back for years.

Begin the long task, and keep the knees warm.

• Recite the Hanuman Chalisa on Tuesday through the stay.
• Begin one long piece of work that needs strength over months.
• Give red lentils or copper on Tuesday during Dhanishta.
