Jupiter Transit in Capricorn

Capricorn is Jupiter's sign of fall. Parashara and Brihat Jataka place the deepest point at the fifth degree, and the sign lord Saturn is neutral toward Jupiter. Wisdom counts for little in this house of work. For about a year Jupiter gives through effort, structure and humility, and its easy grace is withheld.

Career is the field. Promotions come to those who have done the work, and a person's role shifts toward management. Faith is tested by practical demands. Neecha bhanga applies when Saturn or the Moon stands in a kendra from the lagna or the Moon, and such a person gains position.

The nakshatras are Uttara Ashadha, Shravana and Dhanishta. Shravana, ruled by the Moon, is the middle third and the kindest, favouring learning, listening and honest counsel. Dhanishta, ruled by Mars, closes the stay with ambition and material gain.

Sagittarius, Virgo, Cancer, Taurus and Pisces Moon signs hold Jupiter in the second, fifth, seventh, ninth and eleventh, the houses Phaladeepika favours. Gemini Moons have Jupiter in the eighth and Aquarius Moons in the twelfth, where a debilitated Jupiter gives least. Capricorn Moons and lagnas carry Jupiter in the first house and feel it in the body and in reputation.

A fallen Jupiter tests what a person's principles are worth under pressure. Keeping them when it costs something is what brings Jupiter's protection here.

Practise humility with discipline. Serve a teacher in practical ways, give yellow cloth and turmeric on Thursday as Parashara prescribes, and recite Om Brihaspataye Namah. Keep to a routine of work and study, since Jupiter in Saturn's sign responds best to effort.
