What Rahu in Aries means
Aries belongs to Mars, and in the usual lists Mars and Rahu are enemies. Rahu behaves like Saturn, as Shanivat Rahu says, and Saturn in Mars's sign is uneasy. Rahu in Aries spends about a year and a half amplifying the self, ambition, the head, and the urge to act first.
Ketu stands in Libra at the same time, so the axis runs between self and partner. Rahu inflates identity and appetite for recognition. Ketu withdraws interest from relationships and shared life. The person feels driven to assert and oddly detached from those closest to them.
Rahu moves backward, so it enters Aries at Krittika and leaves from Ashwini. Krittika, the Sun's nakshatra, opens the stay with a burning away of what was false. Bharani, ruled by Venus, is the most intense third, with desire and obsession running high. Ashwini, ruled by Ketu, closes it with sudden starts and quick recoveries.
Rahu's favourable transit houses follow Saturn's, the third, sixth and eleventh from the Moon, which fall to Aquarius, Scorpio and Gemini Moon signs.
