What Rahu in Cancer means
Cancer is the Moon's sign, and the Moon is Rahu's enemy in the usual lists. Rahu eclipses the Moon, and in the Moon's own house it clouds the mind. For about a year and a half the sign's themes are inflated and disturbed. Home, mother, security, property and belonging all come under Rahu.
Ketu stands in Capricorn, the sign of career and public duty. Rahu craves emotional intensity and new surroundings, and Ketu loses interest in ambition and status. The person may leave a secure position for a feeling, or move house for reasons that do not last. Restlessness at home and a pull toward foreign residence are common.
The nakshatras are Punarvasu, Pushya and Ashlesha. Rahu moves backward and enters Cancer at Ashlesha, the serpent's nakshatra ruled by Mercury and its most natural home in the sign.
