What Jupiter in Aries means
Aries belongs to Mars, and Mars is Jupiter's friend in Parashara's table of relationships. Jupiter is welcome here. The sign rules the self, the head, initiative and new beginnings, and Jupiter brings wisdom, expansion and grace to each of them. The stay takes about a year, and a retrograde often divides it into two or three visits.
New ventures started under this transit carry Jupiter's blessing, so long as they are honest. Courage joins with judgement, and teachers, advisers and elders appear at the right moment. The person becomes more generous and more visible. Confidence grows and needs grounding.
The nakshatras are Ashwini, Bharani and Krittika. Ashwini, ruled by Ketu, favours healing, quick learning and fresh starts. Krittika, the Sun's nakshatra, closes the stay with recognition and a sharper sense of purpose.
Phaladeepika gives Jupiter's favourable transit houses from the Moon as the second, fifth, seventh, ninth and eleventh. With Jupiter in Aries, that means Pisces, Sagittarius, Libra, Leo and Gemini Moon signs, and the same houses are counted from the lagna. Virgo Moons have Jupiter in the eighth and Taurus Moons in the twelfth, where its gifts are quieter and its expenses larger. Aries Moons carry Jupiter in the first house, which lifts health and standing and adds weight to the body.
The transit shows how one holds faith when it comes with force. Aries is quick to act, and Jupiter asks that action be guided by dharma. A person who pauses to ask what is right before charging ahead gains the most from the year.
The remedy is to honour the teacher. Yellow cloth, turmeric, gram or gold, given on Thursday, is the dana. Recite Om Brihaspataye Namah and study under a teacher. In Aries, the practical remedy is to slow down long enough to hear advice.
