What Mercury in Revati nakshatra means

Revati is Mercury's own nakshatra and the last of the twenty-seven. Pushan, the Aditya who guards travellers and finds what is lost, is its deity, and a fish, or a drum, is its symbol. The nakshatra fills the end of Pisces, Jupiter's sign, where Mercury is debilitated, past the degree of deepest fall and rising toward Aries. Mercury owns the nakshatra and is a weak guest in the sign.

The usual stay is about eight days, and the retrograde loop can hold Mercury here for a month. Revati is the homecoming: the end of a trade, a course, a stay abroad, a book. Mercury's travel signification is strong, and Pushan looks after the traveller, the lost item and the animal that strayed. Accounts are closed and the surplus is shared.

Muhurta Chintamani counts Revati mridu, soft. The days suit marriage, art, learning, the wearing of new clothes and the start of a road trip. Nothing sharp belongs here. In debility Mercury's arithmetic is unreliable, so the closing of accounts wants a second pair of eyes.

From the Moon and the lagna, Aquarius, Sagittarius, Libra, Leo, Gemini and Taurus hold Mercury in the favourable houses Phaladeepika names. Pisces, Capricorn, Scorpio, Virgo, Cancer and Aries have the harder count, and for them the week is for finishing.

The transit shows how a person ends things. Some close the account and walk on. Some keep the book open for one more entry, and Revati makes the habit visible.

For remedy, feed a traveller or an animal, since both are Pushan's. Recite Om Budhaya Namah, worship Vishnu, and give green cloth or moong on Wednesday. Finish one thing left open before Mercury enters Aries.
