Sun Transit in Revati

Revati closes the zodiac. It is the fish and the drum in Pisces, ruled by Mercury, with Pushan as its deity. The Sun is neutral toward Mercury, and Jupiter, lord of the sign, is a friend.

Pushan is an Aditya, keeper of roads, cattle and the lost. The Sun spends the last fortnight of its year in his care before Mesha Sankranti.

The solar year ends inside this stay of about two weeks, and the Sun's significations turn to completion: accounts closed, a post handed over, a father's affairs put in order, a long trip finished. Revati is mridu. It favours travel, care of animals, the settling of wages and any kindness done to the weak. The season rests the eyes, and a finished task rests the heart.

The last degrees of Revati are gandanta, the junction of water and fire at the end of the zodiac. Crossing it takes a day, and the crossing can show as a short crisis of position before the new year. In some years Ugadi falls in this stay, with Vishu following at the Sankranti.

Capricorn, Libra, Gemini and Taurus Moons hold the third, sixth, tenth and eleventh, the houses Phaladeepika favours for the Sun. Pisces Moons carry the Sun in the first house. Aries, Leo and Sagittarius Moons have the twelfth, eighth and fourth and should take care of spending, health and the home, and the lagna is counted the same way.

Pushan guides the traveller home. In his nakshatra the Sun shows how a person finishes, and whether they can end a thing without clinging to it.

For Pushan, feed cattle or give fodder, and help someone who has lost their way. Offer water to the rising Sun with Om Suryaya Namah, give wheat on Sunday, and close every account before the year turns.
