Sun Transit in Sagittarius

Sagittarius belongs to Jupiter, and the Sun counts Jupiter a friend. Surya is well placed here for about twenty-nine days, the shortest of the twelve solar months. Dhanu Sankranti opens Dhanurmasa, when marriages and new ceremonies pause across much of Nepal and India.

Sagittarius governs the thighs, dharma, teaching and long travel. The Sun brings questions of purpose to the front, study of the shastras goes well, and pilgrimage and teaching carry extra weight this month.

Phaladeepika places the Sun well in the third, sixth, tenth and eleventh from the Moon, which here means Libra, Cancer, Pisces and Aquarius Moons. Gemini Moons carry it in the seventh. Sagittarius Moons hold it in the first, and the hips and thighs need care.
