What Saturn in Sagittarius means
Sagittarius is Jupiter's sign, and Jupiter is neutral toward Saturn. The sign rules dharma, teachers, law, higher study, faith, long travel and the father's line. For about two and a half years Saturn examines each of these and keeps only what is sincere.
Belief is tested during this transit. A faith inherited without thought weakens, and a faith that has been practised holds and deepens. Study slows and turns serious, and opinions give way to the texts themselves. Teachers and gurus may seem distant, and the relationship with the father carries extra duty.
The nakshatras are Mula, Purva Ashadha and Uttara Ashadha. Mula, ruled by Ketu, uproots what is false at the start of the stay and is the hardest stretch. Uttara Ashadha, the Sun's nakshatra, gives lasting victory to those who kept their principles through the middle.
