Jupiter Transit in Leo

Leo is the Sun's sign, and the Sun is Jupiter's friend, so Jupiter is honoured here. The sign rules authority, kings, government, the father, children, creativity and the heart. For about a year Jupiter brings dharma to power, and leaders who rule justly gain.

Children are the clearest theme. Births, the welfare of children, and success in study and creative work all improve, and the father's blessing and the goodwill of those in authority open doors. Confidence rises. In the Sun's sign, any pride that grows with it is visible to everyone.

Magha, Purva Phalguni and Uttara Phalguni divide the stay. Magha, ruled by Ketu, connects the stay to ancestors and inherited position. Purva Phalguni, ruled by Venus, is the most enjoyable third, favouring marriage, art and celebration. Uttara Phalguni, the Sun's nakshatra, ends the transit with contracts and recognition.

Cancer, Aries, Aquarius, Sagittarius and Libra Moon signs receive Jupiter in the second, fifth, seventh, ninth and eleventh, Phaladeepika's favourable houses. Capricorn Moons have Jupiter in the eighth and Virgo Moons in the twelfth, where gains come through loss and through retreat. Leo Moons and lagnas carry Jupiter in the first house and grow in standing, health and generosity.

Jupiter in Leo treats authority as something held in trust. Leading for the sake of the people led earns lasting respect this year.

Honour both the Sun and Jupiter. Offer water to the rising Sun and respect the father and every teacher. Give yellow cloth or gold on Thursday, as Parashara's remedy chapter prescribes, and recite Om Brihaspataye Namah. Watch the heart, because Leo and Jupiter together enlarge everything.
