Jupiter Transit in Pisces

Pisces is Jupiter's own sign. Jupiter is at home in this last sign of the zodiac, whose themes are compassion, faith, charity, foreign lands, sleep, hospitals, expenses and moksha. For about a year Jupiter gives its gentlest results, and protection comes through surrender.

Spiritual life is the field. Meditation deepens, teachers are found, and charity comes easily. Expenses rise too, on education, travel, healing and the support of others. Foreign residence and work abroad are favoured.

The nakshatras are Purva Bhadrapada, Uttara Bhadrapada and Revati. Purva Bhadrapada is Jupiter's own nakshatra and opens the stay with intensity and purpose. Uttara Bhadrapada, ruled by Saturn, is the middle third, serious and slow, and the best stretch for long practice. Revati, ruled by Mercury, closes the transit with nourishment, safe travel and the end of a cycle.

Aquarius, Scorpio, Virgo, Cancer and Taurus Moon signs and lagnas have Jupiter in the second, fifth, seventh, ninth and eleventh, Phaladeepika's favourable houses. Leo Moons have Jupiter in the eighth and Aries Moons in the twelfth, where the transit gives through loss, retreat and expense. Pisces Moons carry Jupiter in the first house and gain protection, health and a wider heart.

Pisces asks a person to let go and to trust. For anyone who gives freely, this is one of the most graceful years of the cycle.

• Give to those who cannot repay, the purest form of Jupiter's dana.
• Recite Om Brihaspataye Namah and keep a daily hour of meditation or japa.
• Guard the feet, which Pisces rules, and keep sleep regular.
