Ketu Transit in Uttara Phalguni

Uttara Phalguni is the Sun's nakshatra, with Aryaman as its deity and the back legs of a cot as its symbol. The first pada lies in Leo and the other three in Virgo. The Sun and Mars are friends, and Ketu acts like Mars, so the lord of the star is kind. Mercury owns Virgo and is an enemy.

Ketu moves backward, entering Uttara Phalguni in Virgo at the fourth pada and leaving from the first pada in Leo. The stay runs about eight months, and the true node's direct spells sometimes divide it into two visits. Rahu stands in Uttara Bhadrapada for the first half and in Purva Bhadrapada for the second.

Aryaman keeps contracts, friendships, marriages and the duties that bind one person to another, and Ketu loosens the binding. An agreement ends because it has done its work, or a friendship of many years goes quiet without a quarrel. Generosity becomes anonymous. The person gives without wishing to be thanked, which is Aryaman's own way.

In the Virgo padas, Cancer, Aries and Scorpio Moons receive Ketu in the third, sixth and eleventh, Phaladeepika's favourable houses. Virgo Moons carry Ketu on the lagna and Rahu on the partner, and Pisces Moons the reverse. In the Leo pada the favourable houses fall to Gemini, Pisces and Libra Moons, with Leo and Aquarius Moons on the axis. The lagna is counted the same way in both signs.

The stay measures how much of a person's duty was performed for the return. Ketu removes the return and leaves the duty.

The remedy is Ganesha and Om Kem Ketave Namah, with water to the rising Sun. Give a blanket, sesame or food for dogs on Tuesday, and keep every promise made under this star.
