What Sun in Uttara Phalguni nakshatra means
Uttara Phalguni is the Sun's own nakshatra, the back legs of the cot, with Aryaman as its deity. One pada lies in Leo and three in Virgo, so the Sun passes from its own sign into Mercury's at Kanya Sankranti. Mercury is neutral toward the Sun. The graha is at home in the nakshatra through the whole stay.
Aryaman is the Aditya of contracts, hospitality and the marriage bond. For about two weeks the Sun's significations turn to promises: a treaty, an appointment letter, a marriage fixed, a father's word given.
