Ketu Transit in Mrigashira

Mrigashira is Mars's nakshatra, and Ketu behaves like Mars, so the lord of the star is kin. Soma is its deity and a deer's head its symbol. The first two padas lie in Taurus, owned by Venus, who is neutral, and the last two in Gemini, owned by Mercury, whom Mars counts an enemy.

Moving backward, Ketu enters at the fourth pada in Gemini and leaves from the first pada in Taurus. The stay runs about eight months, dividing into two visits when the true node runs direct for a few weeks. The search, curiosity, fragrance and wandering are Mrigashira's themes.

Under Ketu the search stops. Years of looking for a teacher or a place may simply end, and what was sought often turns out to have been close by. In the Gemini padas the mind grows quiet and the nerves need care. In the Taurus padas the body wants less.

Rahu stands in Mula at the same time and moves back into Jyeshtha for the second half of the stay.

In Gemini, Aries, Capricorn and Leo Moons have Ketu in the third, sixth and eleventh, the houses Phaladeepika names favourable. Gemini Moons carry Ketu on the lagna and Rahu in the seventh, and Sagittarius Moons the reverse. In Taurus the favourable houses fall to Pisces, Sagittarius and Cancer Moons, with Taurus and Scorpio Moons on the axis. Count the lagna the same way.
