Bharani lies wholly in Aries, Mars's sign and a friendly one for Jupiter. Its lord is Venus, whom Jupiter counts as an enemy, and its deity is Yama, the lord of dharma and of death. The symbol is the yoni, the place of birth. Jupiter is welcome in the sign and uneasy in the nakshatra.
The most recent stay ran about two and a half months, and the retrograde can add a second visit. Jupiter's themes of children, law and faith meet Yama's court. Births, adoptions and questions of inheritance come forward, and so do legal judgements long delayed. Venus's rule brings the body and its pleasures into view, and Jupiter asks that they be governed.
Yama is also the dharmaraja, the judge who weighs every act. Under this transit a person is often called to bear a duty for another, to nurse, to carry, to wait. The bearing is the growth.
