Sun Transit in Jyeshtha

Indra presides over Jyeshtha, the earring and the umbrella, in the last degrees of Scorpio, and Mercury rules it. The Sun is neutral toward Mercury, and Mars, lord of the sign, is a friend.

Indra is king of the devas and the Sun is king among the grahas. In this nakshatra of seniority the Sun is the eldest in the room.

For about two weeks rank is asserted, and the Sun's significations of authority and government show as protection and as rivalry. The umbrella is held over those in one's care. The earring is the badge of office, and people are judged by whether they have earned it. Jyeshtha is tikshna, and its last degrees are gandanta, the junction with Sagittarius, so the Sun's passage there brings a short, sharp turn in a matter of position. Elders and the eldest sibling come forward, and anyone under strain should watch the heart.

Virgo, Gemini, Aquarius and Capricorn Moons hold the favourable houses. Scorpio Moons carry the Sun in the first, Sagittarius in the twelfth, Aries in the eighth and Leo in the fourth, and should guard standing, spending and health. Read the Moon first, then count from the lagna.

Indra's fault is pride. The fortnight shows whether a person's rank protects others or only themselves.

Offer water to the rising Sun with Om Suryaya Namah, and give jaggery or copper on Sunday. For Indra, honour your elder. Leave a rival's insult where it was spoken.
