Sun Transit in Pushya

Pushya, the cow's udder and the lotus, sits in Cancer under Saturn, with Brihaspati as its deity. Saturn is the Sun's enemy, and Cancer belongs to the Moon, the Sun's friend.

Pushya is counted the most auspicious of the nakshatras for the Moon, and the Sun's fortnight here has a settled, nourishing quality. The graha is at ease in the sign and quiet in the nakshatra of its enemy. Care and provision are the themes. Authority and government turn to welfare, rations, the treasury and the pay of servants, a father is seen as provider, and Brihaspati adds counsel and the presence of teachers.

Taurus, Aquarius, Libra and Virgo Moons have the Sun in the third, sixth, tenth and eleventh and gain. Cancer Moons carry it in the first and Leo Moons in the twelfth, where expense and fatigue run high. Sagittarius and Aries Moons hold the eighth and fourth and should watch health and the home. Count the lagna the same way.

The transit shows whether a person's authority feeds anyone. In Saturn's nakshatra the Sun is asked to work and to give.

For Brihaspati, feed a teacher or a brahmana on Thursday. Offer water to the rising Sun, recite Om Suryaya Namah, and give jaggery or wheat on Sunday. Saturn's nakshatra asks patience of the Sun, so keep to a timetable.

Muhurta Chintamani counts Ravi Yoga from the Sun's nakshatra. With the Sun in Pushya, any day whose Moon is in Purva Phalguni, Hasta, Vishakha, Anuradha, Purva Ashadha or Revati carries it, and such a day removes many small flaws in a muhurta.
