What Sun in Pushya nakshatra means
Pushya sits in Cancer, the cow's udder and the lotus, ruled by Saturn with Brihaspati as its deity. Saturn is the Sun's enemy, and Cancer belongs to the Moon, the Sun's friend. Pushya is counted the most auspicious of the nakshatras for the Moon, and the Sun's fortnight here has a settled, nourishing quality. The graha is strong in the sign and quiet in the nakshatra.
The themes are care and provision. The Sun's significations of authority and government turn to welfare, rations, the treasury and the pay of servants. A father is seen as provider. Brihaspati in the deity's seat adds counsel and the presence of teachers.
