Sun Transit in Dhanishta

The eight Vasus preside over Dhanishta, the drum and the flute, and Mars rules it. Two padas lie in Capricorn and two in Aquarius, so the Sun passes from one of Saturn's signs to the other at Kumbha Sankranti. Mars is the Sun's friend. Saturn, lord of both signs, is an enemy.

The Vasus are wealth. For about two weeks the Sun's significations turn to the treasury, to pay and pension and to public works, and a father's money or a father's music comes up. Dhanishta is chara. It favours movement, group work, music and anything with a beat: drill, rhythm, a schedule kept by many.

Aquarius, Saturn's mulatrikona, gives the Sun the least ease of the two signs. Authority becomes one voice in an assembly, and it is followed when it keeps time with the others.

In the Capricorn padas, Scorpio, Leo, Aries and Pisces Moons hold the favourable houses. In the Aquarius padas, Sagittarius, Virgo, Taurus and Aries Moons take the third, sixth, tenth and eleventh. Capricorn and then Aquarius Moons carry the Sun in the first, the twelfth passes from Aquarius to Pisces, and the lagna is read the same way.

Mars in the nakshatra gives the drive, and Saturn in the sign decides whether it is welcome.

Offer water to the rising Sun with Om Suryaya Namah, and give copper on Sunday. For the Vasus, give to a fund that serves many people, and keep a fixed hour for practice through the stay.
