What Sun in Rohini nakshatra means
Rohini is the Moon's nakshatra in Taurus, the cart or chariot, with Brahma, the Prajapati, as its deity. The Moon is the Sun's friend, and the Sun rests better here than in Krittika. Venus's sign still limits the graha. The Sun stays about two weeks.
In the north of India the Sun's entry into Rohini opens Nautapa, the nine days of greatest heat before the rains. The nakshatra is about growth, cattle, crops, fertility and comfort, and the Sun here presses on all of them. Water, food supply, farming and prices are the public themes. Personally, the stay favours steady work that produces something, and it strains the eyes and the body in the heat.
Prajapati is the creator, and the Sun's atma in his nakshatra asks what one is producing. Authority is expressed through providing. A father, an employer or an officer is judged in this fortnight by what reaches the people under them.
Rohini reveals how the person nourishes. Pride that gives nothing away is the Sun's failing in Rohini.
Water to the rising Sun, and water to any plant or animal one keeps. Recite Om Suryaya Namah, give wheat or jaggery on Sunday, and for Brahma, give food to students. Rest in the middle of the day.
Counted from the Moon, and again from the lagna, Pisces, Sagittarius, Leo and Cancer hold the third, sixth, tenth and eleventh. Phaladeepika gives those houses for gain. Taurus Moons carry the Sun in the first, Gemini in the twelfth, Libra in the eighth and Aquarius in the fourth. These should take care of health, spending and rest in the heat.
