What Moon in Mrigashira nakshatra means
Mrigashira spans the end of Taurus and the start of Gemini. Mars rules it, Soma is its deity, and its symbol is the head of a deer. Soma is the Moon itself in its aspect of nectar, so the deity is the Moon's own. Toward Mars, the lord, the Moon is neutral; Mars, for its part, counts the Moon a friend.
This is a mridu nakshatra, soft. Muhurta Chintamani gives such days to music, new clothes, ornaments, friendship, love, the learning of fine arts and marriage. The searching quality of the deer makes it a good day for study and for asking questions. It does not suit confrontation or harsh remedies.
The Moon stays about a day. Tara from the birth nakshatra:
- Sampat for Rohini, Hasta and Shravana.
- Kshema for Bharani, Purva Phalguni and Purva Ashadha; sadhana for Ashlesha, Jyeshtha and Revati.
- Mitra for Punarvasu, Vishakha and Purva Bhadrapada; parama mitra for Ardra, Swati and Shatabhisha.
- Vipat for Krittika, Uttara Phalguni and Uttara Ashadha; pratyak for Ashwini, Magha and Mula.
- Naidhana for Pushya, Anuradha and Uttara Bhadrapada.
Mrigashira, Chitra and Dhanishta births have their janma tara. In the Taurus padas the Moon is exalted and the day is steadier; in the Gemini padas it is lighter and more talkative.
Searching is the mind's habit under this Moon, the wish to find and to taste. A person sees what they are chasing and whether it feeds them. Keep the practice gentle: a walk, a song, a chapter read slowly, and the Moon's mantra at moonrise.
