Moon Transit in Ashwini

Ashwini opens the zodiac at the first degree of Aries. Its deities are the Ashwini Kumaras, physicians of the gods, its lord is Ketu, and its symbol is a horse's head. Parashara's table of natural friendship lists no enemy for the Moon, and Ketu falls outside the table, so no friendship is counted here.

Ashwini is laghu, light and quick. Muhurta Chintamani gives such days to work that should finish fast: trade, medicine, learning, craft, ornaments and short travel. Long foundations, and anything that must hold for years, wait for a dhruva day. For about a day the Moon is restless and eager to begin.
