What Moon in Anuradha nakshatra means
Anuradha lies in the middle of Scorpio, the sign of the Moon's debility. Saturn rules it, Mitra, the god of friendship and the kept promise, is its deity, and its symbol is a lotus or an archway. The Moon regards Saturn as neutral and Saturn regards the Moon as an enemy. Anuradha is the kindest part of an unkind sign for the Moon, and a debilitated Moon here keeps its capacity for devotion.
Muhurta Chintamani classes Anuradha as mridu, soft, with Mrigashira, Chitra and Revati. Friendship, music, clothes, ornaments, love and the fine arts suit such a day. Group work, an alliance and the settling of a quarrel between friends suit Anuradha in particular. The Moon stays about a day, and the mind is loyal, patient and a little melancholy.
From the birth nakshatra, Anuradha is sampat for Punarvasu, Vishakha and Purva Bhadrapada, and kshema for Mrigashira, Chitra and Dhanishta. It is sadhana for Krittika, Uttara Phalguni and Uttara Ashadha, mitra for Ashwini, Magha and Mula, and parama mitra for Ashlesha, Jyeshtha and Revati.
Ardra, Swati and Shatabhisha meet vipat. Rohini, Hasta and Shravana meet pratyak. Bharani, Purva Phalguni and Purva Ashadha meet naidhana. Those born in Pushya, Anuradha and Uttara Bhadrapada have their janma tara.
The day shows how the mind holds friendship when it is low. The debilitated Moon feels its lack, and Mitra's nakshatra answers that lack with loyalty given without expectation.
A fitting practice is to visit or call a friend who has been ill or forgotten, and to say nothing about oneself. Milk offered to Shiva on Monday and a lotus, if one can be found, suit the day.
