What Moon in Purva Bhadrapada nakshatra means
Purva Bhadrapada runs through three padas of Aquarius and ends with one in Pisces, Saturn's sign giving way to Jupiter's. Jupiter rules it, and Aja Ekapada, counted among the Rudras in some lists, is its deity. Its symbol is the front legs of a funeral cot, or a sword. The Moon regards Jupiter as neutral, and Jupiter regards the Moon as a friend; the Pisces pada is gentler than the three before it.
Muhurta Chintamani classes Purva Bhadrapada as ugra, fierce. Its days serve austerity, the fiercer forms of tapas, the ending of a corrupt arrangement, dispute, and dealings with fire. They do not serve marriage, travel, a house entry or any soft beginning. The Moon spends about a day here, and the mind is intense, penitent and prone to extremes.
From the birth nakshatra, Purva Bhadrapada is sampat for Ardra, Swati and Shatabhisha, and kshema for Rohini, Hasta and Shravana. Sadhana falls to Bharani, Purva Phalguni and Purva Ashadha. Ashlesha, Jyeshtha and Revati have mitra, and Pushya, Anuradha and Uttara Bhadrapada have parama mitra.
Mrigashira, Chitra and Dhanishta meet vipat, Krittika, Uttara Phalguni and Uttara Ashadha meet pratyak, and Ashwini, Magha and Mula meet naidhana. Punarvasu, Vishakha and Purva Bhadrapada births have their janma tara.
The fire in a person's faith, and whether it warms or burns, comes into view under this Moon. Aja Ekapada is the pillar of tapas, and the transit brings out the zeal that can turn to fanaticism when it is not watched. The fitting practice is a vow kept for the day, a fast or a silence, with the Moon's japa in the evening. Give a blanket or oil to someone who sleeps outside.
