What Jupiter in Dhanishta nakshatra means
Dhanishta spans the last two padas of Capricorn and the first two of Aquarius, both signs of Saturn. Mars is the lord, a friend of Jupiter, and the eight Vasus preside. The symbols are a drum and a flute. Jupiter is debilitated in the Capricorn half and neutral in the Aquarius half, and Mars gives it drive throughout.
The name means the wealthiest, and Jupiter's signification of wealth is the theme. Money comes through property, music, groups and organised effort. Mars adds ambition and some haste. The stay is around four to five months, and a retrograde commonly brings the graha back for a second visit.
Children show talent in rhythm and sport. Faith becomes communal: a temple committee, a study circle, a public festival. Marriage is delayed by ambition in the Capricorn half and helped by friends in the Aquarius half. Saturn's signs make Jupiter give late, and Dhanishta gives late and gives well.
From the Moon, and by the same count from the lagna:
- Sagittarius, Virgo, Cancer, Taurus and Pisces gain through the Capricorn padas, with Jupiter in Phaladeepika's favourable houses.
