Jupiter Transit in Ashlesha

Ashlesha closes Cancer, and Jupiter leaves its sign of exaltation through the coils of the serpent. Mercury rules the nakshatra and is Jupiter's enemy. The Nagas are the deities and a coiled snake the symbol. The sign is Jupiter's best, and this nakshatra is its least easy part.

A retrograde tends to bring Jupiter back across it. Its themes are wisdom that comes by cunning, wealth held tightly, and a teacher with mixed motives, and children may keep secrets. Legal matters turn on the fine print.

The Nagas guard hidden treasure and kundalini both. Jupiter here favours deep sadhana, mantra given in private and the study of what is not written down. The same transit favours gossip and cleverness.

From the Moon, Gemini, Pisces, Capricorn, Scorpio and Virgo receive Jupiter in Phaladeepika's favourable houses. Cancer Moons carry it in the first and feel the coil in the chest and digestion. Leo, Taurus, Aries, Aquarius and Sagittarius Moons should take care with the twelfth, third, fourth, sixth and eighth. Lagnas are counted the same way.

Jupiter in Ashlesha shows how much of a person's faith is strategy. Seeing that clearly is the gain of the transit.

Offer milk to the Nagas on a Panchami, and honour the guru on Thursday with Om Brihaspataye Namah. Parashara's dana of yellow cloth, turmeric or gram, given without telling anyone, suits the nakshatra. Speak less. Make no clever plan on a Thursday.
