What Jupiter in Punarvasu nakshatra means

Punarvasu is Jupiter's own nakshatra, so the graha is at home here whatever the sign says. Aditi, mother of the gods, is its deity, and its symbol is a bow and quiver. Three padas lie in Gemini, an enemy's sign, and the fourth in Cancer, where Jupiter is exalted. The name means the return of light.

The recent stay lasted about ten months, because the retrograde fell inside it and Jupiter turned back and forth without leaving. That is unusually long, and the themes have time to mature. What was lost returns: a teacher, a faith, a sum of money, a chance at a child. Aditi is boundless, and Jupiter under her gives without measure.

The Gemini padas give the return through words, letters and renewed contracts. The Cancer pada gives it through the mother and the home, and there Jupiter reaches its exaltation. Saravali speaks well of Jupiter in Cancer, and this last pada is where the transit is strongest.

A person's capacity to be restored comes into view. Some receive what returns with gratitude and some with suspicion, and the difference is the teaching.

For the Gemini padas, Taurus, Aquarius, Sagittarius, Libra and Leo Moons have Jupiter in Phaladeepika's favourable houses. For the Cancer pada those houses shift to Gemini, Pisces, Capricorn, Scorpio and Virgo Moons. Cancer Moons then carry an exalted Jupiter in the first, and Leo Moons have it in the twelfth. Lagnas are counted the same way.

Guru dakshina is the remedy that fits an own nakshatra. Honour Aditi by feeding mothers, and recite Om Brihaspataye Namah on Thursday with the dana of yellow cloth, turmeric or gram that Parashara gives. Forgive one debt owed to you.
