Jupiter Transit in Mula

Jupiter enters its own sign at Mula. Its moolatrikona covers the first ten degrees of Sagittarius, which is most of Mula, and the graha is strong through the whole nakshatra. Nirriti, goddess of dissolution, presides, the symbol is a bundle of roots, and Ketu is the lord. Under Kujavat Ketu the lord acts like Mars, a friend, so Jupiter is powerful here and the nakshatra points it downward.

Expect a stay of about four to five months, often divided by the retrograde. Mula uproots. Under a strong Jupiter the uprooting is of false beliefs, borrowed opinions and faith held from habit, as the person goes to the root of a text, a tradition or a question and discards what does not hold.

Wealth and children are touched in the same way: an investment is liquidated, a family home is left, a child leaves for a distant place. Ketu's losses tend to free the person. Jupiter's strength in its own sign makes the outcome good in the end.

Scorpio, Leo, Gemini, Aries and Aquarius Moons and lagnas have Jupiter in the second, fifth, seventh, ninth and eleventh, Phaladeepika's favourable houses. Sagittarius Moons carry a strong Jupiter in the first and are given a new direction. Capricorn, Virgo, Cancer and Taurus Moons, with Jupiter in the twelfth, fourth, sixth and eighth, should not sell in haste.

Mula shows what a person's faith is rooted in. Jupiter is the wisdom already held, and Mula digs to find how deep it goes.

For Nirriti, give away what you have finished with, and clean the house. Japa of Om Brihaspataye Namah on Thursday and Parashara's dana of yellow cloth, turmeric or gram support the graha. Study a root text with a teacher.
