Venus Transit in Rohini

Rohini is the Moon's nakshatra in Taurus, the sign of Venus. Its deity is Brahma as Prajapati, lord of creatures, and its symbol is a cart. Parashara lists the Moon as an enemy of Venus, and the Moon in turn holds Venus as neutral. In Rohini Venus is in its own sign, which is also the Moon's sign of exaltation, and the enmity matters little.

This is one of the most fertile placements Venus can take in transit. For the eleven days or so of the stay, growth, beauty, dairy, agriculture, jewellery, music and pleasure all rise, and marriage, conception and buying a home or a vehicle suit the window. Muhurta Chintamani counts Rohini among the nakshatras fit for a wedding.

A retrograde loop once stretched a stay to around three and a half weeks. Comfort is the risk. Venus and the Moon together make the mind soft, and softness can become indulgence in food, spending and sleep. The throat and the face, which Taurus rules, respond to care taken now.

Taurus, Aries, Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn, Libra, Virgo, Cancer and Gemini Moons hold Venus in Phaladeepika's favourable houses and gain in affection, income and ease. Sagittarius, Scorpio and Leo Moons have it in the sixth, seventh and tenth. For them the days bring extra spending, a partner's demands, or too much pleasure at the cost of work. The Moon and the lagna are both read with this count.
