Venus Transit in Punarvasu

Punarvasu means the return of light, and its deity Aditi is the mother of the gods. Jupiter rules it, and its symbol is a bow and quiver. Three padas lie in Gemini and the fourth in Cancer. Venus holds Jupiter as neutral in Parashara's table, and Jupiter holds Venus as an enemy, so the two grahas are civil and not warm.

After Ardra's storms, Venus in Punarvasu restores. A relationship that broke is often mended in these eleven days. Money that went out comes back, a vehicle is repaired, a house is set in order. The symbol is the arrow that returns to the quiver, and the person feels that what was lost was only lent.

The Gemini padas give the restoration through words: an apology, a letter, a contract renewed. The Cancer pada, ruled by the Moon, Venus's enemy, gives it through home and mother, and the feeling is deeper and less easy. Aditi's gift is a wide heart, and the transit favours forgiveness over accounts.

For the Gemini padas, Capricorn, Sagittarius and Virgo Moons have Venus in the sixth, seventh and tenth and should take care. For the Cancer pada the same three houses fall to Aquarius, Capricorn and Libra Moons. The others, and the lagnas counted the same way, receive Venus in one of Phaladeepika's nine favourable houses. Gemini and Cancer Moons feel it in the first house as renewed charm.

The transit shows what one is willing to take back. Some receive the returning person or object with open hands, some with a list of conditions, and the list is worth reading closely. Remedy is japa of Om Shukraya Namah, white cloth or rice on Friday, and a prayer to Aditi for the widening of the heart. Guru dakshina, even a small one, is fitting under a Jupiter nakshatra.
