What Venus in Purva Bhadrapada nakshatra means
Purva Bhadrapada belongs to Jupiter, and its deity is Aja Ekapada, the one-footed goat, counted among the Rudras in some lists. Its symbol is the front legs of a funeral cot, or a sword. Three padas lie in Aquarius, Saturn's sign, and the fourth in Pisces, where Venus is exalted. Jupiter is neutral to Venus in Parashara's table, and Saturn is a friend, so the Aquarius padas are easier than the deity's name suggests.
Heat and austerity enter Venus's affairs. Passion is intense and can turn to fanaticism, and a relationship begun in these eleven days or so has a fierce quality. Money is spent on a cause, and the sword cuts attachment as readily as it defends it. The person may give up a comfort for a principle, or a principle for a comfort.
Purva Bhadrapada is an ugra nakshatra and is left out of Muhurta Chintamani's list for a wedding. It suits tapas, a fast, the ending of a habit and the confrontation of what one has feared. A retrograde has once held Venus here for about three and a half weeks, and the fire lasts as long. The Pisces pada softens everything, and Venus there is at the door of exaltation.
