Venus Transit in Purva Bhadrapada

Purva Bhadrapada belongs to Jupiter, and its deity is Aja Ekapada, the one-footed goat, counted among the Rudras in some lists. Its symbol is the front legs of a funeral cot or a sword. Three padas lie in Aquarius, Saturn's sign, and the fourth in Pisces, where Venus is exalted. Venus is neutral toward Jupiter in Parashara's table and Saturn is a friend, which makes the Aquarius padas easier than the deity's name suggests.

Heat and austerity enter Venus's affairs. Passion runs intense and can turn to fanaticism, and a relationship begun in these eleven days or so has a fierce quality. Money is spent on a cause. The sword cuts attachment as readily as it defends it, and a person may trade a comfort for a principle.

Purva Bhadrapada is ugra and is left out of Muhurta Chintamani's list for a wedding. It suits tapas, a fast, the ending of a habit and facing what one has feared. A retrograde once held Venus here for about three and a half weeks, and the fire lasted as long. The Pisces pada softens everything, with Venus at the door of exaltation.

Virgo, Leo and Taurus Moons hold Venus in the sixth, seventh and tenth for the Aquarius padas. Libra, Virgo and Gemini Moons hold it there for the Pisces pada. Virgo Moons should take care throughout. The other Moon signs and lagnas have Venus in a house Phaladeepika calls favourable, and Aquarius and Pisces Moons receive it in the first.
