Venus Transit in Shravana

Vishnu presides over Shravana, the Moon's nakshatra in the middle of Capricorn, Saturn's sign. Its symbol is an ear or the three footprints of Vamana. Parashara names the Moon an enemy of Venus and Saturn a friend, so the sign lord welcomes what the nakshatra lord does not, and the result is a Venus that listens.

Hearing is the theme. Music, recitation, learning a text by ear and the pleasure of a good conversation come forward, and wealth arrives through knowledge and connections. A reputation is built by what others hear of one. The stay is around eleven days.

Shravana is chara, and Muhurta Chintamani counts it fit for travel and for taking up a study. Counsel taken from a teacher in these days is well taken.

Leo, Cancer and Aries Moons hold Venus in the sixth, seventh and tenth from the Moon. For them the days bring a partner's complaint, an expense at work, or news they would rather not hear. Capricorn, Sagittarius, Scorpio, Libra, Virgo, Gemini, Taurus, Pisces and Aquarius Moons have Venus in Phaladeepika's favourable houses. The lagna is counted the same way, and Capricorn lagnas feel it as an ear opened to praise.

Hear a discourse or a kirtan during the stay. Say Om Shukraya Namah on Friday, and give white cloth or rice to a student. Vishnu is honoured by silence while another speaks.
